By violating basic human rights and freedoms of the citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan within the areas of Azerbaijan and forming a false body called "Republic of Nagorno Karabakh”, Armenia made efforts time and again to create air of election there. On July 19 of this year, the invader forces intended to hold "Presidential elections” again in Nagorno Karabakh that is inseparable part of Azerbaijan. Such a step is completely contrary to international law norms, Constitution and laws of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

Pursuant to Article 6 of the Constitution of the Republic of Azerbaijan, no part of people of Azerbaijan, no social group or organization, no individual may usurp the right for execution of power. According to Constitution and Election Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan, elections and referendum shall be organized and conducted only by Central Election Commission of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

Central Election Commission welcomed the position and statements of international organizations, as well as Council of Europe, OSCE and its Minsk Group and individual states about the fact that they don’t recognize the false elections and it may harm the salvation of the conflict in the way of peace.

Central Election Commission of the Republic of Azerbaijan states that "observers” intending to observe "elections” within the territories of the Republic of Azerbaijan which are under occupation, should not be indifferent to international norms. Their actions like these will be valued as gross violation of sovereignty of the Azerbaijan state.

Being sure of the international community takes the same position, Central Election Commission of the Republic of Azerbaijan does not recognize and considers illegal such "elections” intended against sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Azerbaijan state.
