Central Election Commission started the distribution of ballot papers for the Presidential Election
Regarding the
Presidential Elections appointed to April 11, 2018, the distribution of ballot
papers to Constituency Election Commissions (Con.ECs) started.
During the event which took place at the Press of the Milli Majlis and attended
by the members, administration and colleagues of the Secretariat of the Central
Election Commission, as well as Con.EC chairpersons and secretaries, the representatives
of international and foreign organizations, mass media and different election
stakeholders were provided with free access to the process. On the first day –
April 2, 2018 ballot papers are planned to be handed over to the election constituencies
in Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, diplomatic missions and consulates of the
country to foreign countries and swimming ships as implied in the Election Code,
generally 41 election constituencies, also the election constituencies which cover
the distant regions of the country and within the two following days, to the
all election constituencies of the country.
At the activity the
mass media was thoroughly informed on the requirements of the Election Code
concerning the preparation and deliver of the ballot papers to the addresses and
the arrangement of the process. To guarantee transparency and openness, mass
media representatives were provided with free access to broadcast all the
stages, meanwhile the questions interesting to journalists were replied to.
After the ballot
papers compiled under the security ensured by the Special State Security
Service are issued to Con.ECs, relevant bodies of the Ministry of Internal
Affairs implements the security of the transfer, maintenance and distribution of
the ballot papers to Precinct Election Commissions (PECs).
It should be noted
that after the text, format, number and preparation rules of ballot papers in
the Presidential Elections have been
approved by the Central Election Commission within the timeframe defined by the
legislation, the ballot papers started to be printed from March 24, 2018 and 5347803
(five million three hundred and forty seven thousand eight hundred and three) ballot
papers were printed by the Commission decision. Pursuant to the Election Code, after
the ballot papers have been issued to Con.ECs, they will be provided to PECs by
Con.ECs at least 3 days prior to the Election day.
