Chairman of the Central Election Commission met with the Head of the European Union Delegation to the Republic of Azerbaijan

On February 21, 2018 Mazahir Panahov, Chairman of the Central Election Commission (CEC) met with Ambassador Kestutis Jankauskas, Head of the European Union Delegation to the Republic of Azerbaijan.
Having greeted Ambassador of the European Union to Azerbaijan, Chairman Mazahir Panahov expressed his gratefulness of the meeting, and emphasized on the partnership of the organization led by him with prominent international organizations. He, therewith, informed that along with different international organizations within the frame of foreign relationship, CEC had cooperated also with the European Union in previous elections and many projects had been carried out in light of those relations.
Ambassador Kestutis Jankauskas, Head of the European Union Delegation to the Republic of Azerbaijan thanked for warm welcome and inquired about the election system in the country, also the preparations for the Presidential elections appointed to April 11, 2018.
Chairman Mazahir Panahov informed on the activities and large-scale projects to be carried out with the aim of holding free, fair and transparent Presidential elections.
During the meeting they also shared views on the issues of mutual interest and potential perspectives of the partnership between the organizations in different fields.
