Chairman of the Central Election Commission met with Ambassador of Mexico

On February 1, Mazahir Panahov, CEC Chairman, met with Juan Rodrigo Labardini Flores, the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Mexico to Azerbaijan.

Having sincerely greeted the visitor, Chairman Mr. Mazahir Panahov expressed his appreciation of the meeting, and underlined close cooperation of the organization led by him with competent international and foreign organizations, as well as diplomatic representatives of different countries of the world. CEC Chairman noted that the  study of international experience is crucial in organizing election practice and achieving the current level of development.

Ambassador Rodrigo Labardini thanked for warm welcome, also informed about the election process in his country and enquired about the elections in Azerbaijan. Chairman Mazahir Panahov replied to the Mexican diplomat’s questions and informed thoroughly about the country’s election system. CEC Chairman also stated that CEC had already started preparations for the Presidential elections in Azerbaijan of the current year, at the initial stage the process of updating voter lists is underway and a number of large-scale projects were being implemented to ensure the citizens' electoral rights more efficiently.

At the session they discussed the partnership between the organizations and shared opinions on the issues of mutual interest.

Ambassador of Mexico to Azerbaijan also visited the CEC Information Centre. Ambassador was informed thoroughly on the broad opportunities of the improved network version of the system and relevant software to ensure transparency of the procedures in elections, therewith the questions interesting to them were responded at the Centre.
