The Central Election Commission (CEC) conducted a session chaired by Mr.Mazahir Panahov on August 20, 2016. Firstly, the session minute of the Commission dated August 17, 2016 was approved.

Later, the issue on the verification of a commission member with consultative right of the "New Azerbaijan” referendum campaign group at CEC, as well as the registration of authorized representatives and agents of the foregoing campaign group in the nationwide voting (referendum) on September 26, 2016 was discussed at the session. The Commission adopted decisions on the verification of the commission member with consultative right, also on the registration of the authorized representatives and agents nominated by the above-mentioned campaign group.

Regarding the nationwide voting (referendum) on September 26, 2016, "Municipality” and "Civil Society” referendum campaign groups were also registered by the Commission decision upon the discussions held by the CEC members.

The structures of some Constituency Election Commissions were made amendments at the CEC session.

Current issues were also considered at the session attended by the representatives of mass media.
