On June 12, co-speakers of Monitoring Committee of Parliament Assembly of European Council on Azerbaijan Pedro Aqramunt Font de Mora and Cozef Debono Qrex met with Mr. Mazahir Panahov, chairman of Central Election Commission.

The CEC chairman who expressed his satisfaction on the meeting informed that the organization headed by him gives special importance to their relations with leading international organizations and the European Council.

The visitors who expressed their gratitude for warm greeting were interested in the works connected with the general election reforms and the forthcoming elections.

The chairman informed the visitors of pre-election atmosphere in the country and talked on the works in connection with elections preparations and its conduct implemented by the organization headed by him.

M.Panahov noted that all necessary works for ensuring active election rights were implemented and attracted attention to that all necessary steps would be put forward for high level election conduct.

The CEC chairman also noted that mass media representatives and observers would be fully facilitated to observe in the aim of ensuring of transparency like in previous elections.

M.Panahov who replied to the visitors’ questions provided detailed information on the CEC activity in current year and projects that would be implemented.

At the same time, views on matters of mutual interest were exchanged at the meeting.
