Central Election Commission of the Republic of Azerbaijan conducted the following session on April 16, 2016
Central Election Commission (CEC) conducted the following session headed
by Mr.Mazahir Panahov on April 16, 2016. Firstly, CEC Chairman made the
Commission members aware of the Order of President of the Republic of
Azerbaijan on the appointment of repeat elections to the Milli Majlis on
Aghdash Con.EC # 90 and informed that the elections were appointed to June 18,
2016 by the Order of head of the state.
Later, Calendar Plan for the basic activities and measures on the
preparation and conduct of repeat Elections to the Milli Majlis on Aghdash
Con.EC # 90 was discussed upon and approved with the aim of subsequent and
effective implementation of the activities implied in the election legislation,
delivering methodical assistance to the election stakeholders and simplifying
their function in the election process.
The issue on the
establishment of Expert Group under CEC to investigate the complaints filed
against actions (inactions) and decisions on violating election right was also
discussed at the session. An Expert Group of 9 persons was formed under CEC by
the Commission decision. And Aghdash Con.EC # 90 was commissioned with the
establishment of an Expert Group of 3 persons under the foregoing Con.EC as
defined by relevant requirements no later than the period implied by law.
A Working Group of
specialists from relevant state institutes was formed at the CEC session to
check the accuracy of the information included in signature sheets and the
attached documents submitted for the registration of the candidate in repeat
Elections to the Milli Majlis on Aghdash Con.EC # 90 and a member of the
Commission was appointed the head of the Working Group.
The membership of Aghdash Con.EC # 90 was formed at the session.
Current issues were also considered during the session attended by the media
representatives.
