Meeting with the delegation of PACE Monitoring Committee at the Central Election Commission
The delegation led by Mr.Stephan Shennac, co-rapporteur of PACE
Monitoring Committee met with Mr.Mazahir Panahov, CEC Chairman on April 7, 2016.
After greeting the visitors, Mazahir Panahov expressed
his gratitude for this meeting and talked about the long-term relationship
between the Commission and respective international organizations, as well as,
the Council of Europe. He also emphasized on the significance put on the
relationship between the organization headed by him and competent international
organizations, as well as, the Council of Europe and the intend to continue
mutual successful cooperation in the elections field in the future.
Having thanked for warm welcome, head of the
delegation Mr. Stephan Shennac made inquiries on the activities to be implemented on
further improvement of election practice.The
Chairman of the Commission responded to the questions of much interest to the
visitors and informed on election system of the Republic of Azerbaijan,
election law and projects that are being implemented on a regular basis to
ensure active and passive election
rights of citizens, also emphasized that the most of these projects are being
implemented jointly with international organizations.
During the meeting perspectives of interagency
cooperation in various fields and views were exchanged also on the issues of
mutual interest.
