The delegation led by Mr.Fahri Hamzah, Vice Speaker of the House of Representatives of the Indonesian Parliament who are on official trip to the Republic of Azerbaijan visited the Central Election Commission to meet with Mr.Mazahir Panahov, CEC Chairman on February 18, 2016.

Having greeted the visitors, CEC Chairman expressed his gratitude of the meeting and spoke about the relationship of the organization headed by him with supreme election commissions of the countries worldwide which have passed through a long development path. Mr.Mazahir Panahov emphasized on the special role of international experience in the improvement of the election practice and its current progress in the Republic of Azerbaijan.

Mr.Fahri Hamzah, Head of the delegation thanked for warm welcome and informed on their efforts to foster the relations of Indonesia with Azerbaijan further. He also noted that they wanted to achieve the improvement of elections in Indonesia by benefiting the rich experience of the Central Election Commission to conduct free, fair and transparent elections, as well as applying its great achievements as a result of exercising informational and communicational technologies in elections. Meanwhile, the delegation expressed their interest in the establishment of direct relations between the supreme election institutions of these two countries.

During the meeting Mr.Mazahir Panahov, CEC Chairman underlined the availability of every opportunity and democratic atmosphere in Azerbaijan to conduct free, fair and transparent elections and arrange elections on high level. He informed the delegation thoroughly on the election system in Azerbaijan, structure of CEC, activity principles of election commissions and other issues, also spoke about wide-scale projects and activities carried out in the direction of conducting democratic elections.

They also shared views on the issues of mutual interest at the meeting with Indonesian parliamentarians.
