Mazahir Panahov, Chairman of the Central Election Commission (CEC) met with the Australia Parliament delegation who are on official visit in the Republic of Azerbaijan to monitor the Elections to the Milli Majlis on November 1, 2015, on October 28, 2015.

CEC Chairman Mazahir Panahov expressed his gratitude of the meeting with parliamentarians upon the welcoming the delegation at the Central Election Commission. Chairman started a talk on relationship of CEC with influential international organizations, stated that study of international experience had played an important role in the improvement of election practice and achievement current development of the electoral system.

Head of the delegation Luke Simpkins and members of Australia Parliament thanked CEC Chairman Mazahir Panahov for warm welcome and were interested in the works undertaken on election system, election law and elections that will be held in the country.CEC Chairman Mazahir Panahov replied to the questions of the delegation and informed on top-level preparation towards the elections, steps put for and wide-scale projects carried out for the conduct of free, fair and transparent elections.

Later, parliamentarians familiarized closely with activities of Commission in the elections to the Milli Majlis and final works carried out regarding to various projects.

During the meeting they shared their opinions on other issues of mutual interest.
