Mr.Michael Link, Director of the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR) visited the Central Election Commission to meet Mr.Mazahir Panahov, CEC Chairman on April 8, 2015.

After the welcome of the visitors, CEC Chairman expressed his gratitude for the meeting and said that he always attached great importance to relations of the Commission with the international organizations and these relations had played an important role in further improvement of election practices. The Chairman also added that he was interested in continuing the bilateral beneficial cooperation in the field of elections.

Director of OSCE/ODIHR expressed his thankfulness for the warm welcome and he was interested about the activities to be implemented on upcoming elections. Mr.Mazahir Panahov, CEC Chairman replied to the visitors’ questions and thoroughly informed on the election legislation of the country, update of voters’ lists, activity principles of the election commissions, as well as, the planned steps and projects to be implemented for ensuring citizens’ election rights.

During the meeting they discussed experience gained from the cooperation of both sides and exchanged views on the issues of mutual interest.
