Voter turnout hits 21.44 % in Azerbaijan's municipal election as of 12:00

As of 12:00, voter turnout in the municipal election hit 21.44 % in Azerbaijan, the head of the CEC`s Information Center Rufat Gulmammadov said.

He said that 1, 033 210 voters of 4, 819 382 have cast their ballots till 12:00. "The top election district with the highest turnout is Gusar constituency #51 (31,03%). The lowest voter turnout was recorded in Kapaz second (Ganja) constituency N40 (10,34 %).

CEC received 50 appeals as of 12:00 related to getting some information. So far, no violation of law has been observed”, he said.

The polling stations opened at 08.00.

The voting will last till 19.00.

Information about voter turnout will be posted on the website of the Central Elections Commission five times a day at 10:00, 12:00, 15:00, 17:00 and 19:00.

37,077 candidates are running in the municipal elections. 15,035 members will be elected to 11,607 municipalities.

18,790 of them are members of 30 parties. 18,289 of them are non-party candidates. 8 political parties are participating in the elections.
