Lidia Yermoshina: I believe elections will end in a free, transparent and democratic atmosphere
Baku, October 9. Chair of the Central Election Commission of Belarus Ms. Lidia Yermoshina, who is in Baku to observe the presidential elections, has met with the Chairman of the Central Election Commission Mazahir Panahov.
The Independent Press Center reports that M. Panahov greeted the guest and updated her about the progress achieved towards the organization presidential elections. He stressed the importance of the observer institution for conducting transparent and democratic elections. The chairman noted, "We have invited heads of election commissions from a number of countries and representatives of international organizations to follow the electoral preparations and voting process in Azerbaijan. Their views on the voting process are of great importance for us.”
"The observation mission of Belarus has arrived in Azerbaijan to monitor the pre-election situation. The observers will watch the voting process in Baku as well as in the regions of the country. In the polling stations I monitored I have witnessed the high voter turnout with no law violations observed. I believe that the voting will end in a free, transparent and democratic atmosphere,” Lidia Yermoshina underscored.
