Kazakhstan and Latvian observation missions to watch voting process in Azerbaijan

Baku, October 8. Heads of Kazakh and Latvian Central Election Commissions Kuanduk Turgankulov and Arnis Chimdars, who are in Baku to monitor the presidential elections, met with the Chairman of the Central Election Commission (CEC) Mazahir Panahov.

According to the Independent Press Center, Panahov greeted the guests and expressed his satisfaction for seeing them in Azerbaijan. The CEC chairman briefed his counterparts on the preparation to the presidential elections and underlined the importance of observer institution for transparent, democratic elections.

The chairman said, "We have invited heads of election commissions from a number of countries and representatives of international organizations to monitor pre-election preparation and voting process. The polling stations are totally ready for the voting”.

The visitors stressed that the Kazakhstan and Latvian observation missions arrived in Azerbaijan to monitor the pre-election situation. The observers will have meetings and monitor the voting processes both in Baku and the regions.

The Kazakh and Latvian chief electoral officers noted that overall development of Azerbaijan will pave the way for democratic, free, transparent and fair conduct of elections.
