The disabled to face no problems in using their voting rights during presidential elections in Azerbaijan
Baku, October 7. Some steps have been taken to ensure that the disabled persons who cannot see and move are engaged in the presidential elections to be held on October 9. All conditions have been created to ensure voting rights of the disabled, Chairman of the Central Election Commission of Azerbaijan Mazahir Panahov said at his meeting with Chairman of the Cooperation Council of the Turkish-speaking States Halil Akinci who is in Azerbaijan to observe the presidential elections, the Independent Press Center reported.
Panahov briefed Akinci on the run-up to the elections, adding all the polling stations have been provided with equipment meeting modern requirements and international standards. The stations are ready for the voting process.
Akinci praised the election-related preparatory measures put in place, adding they will be observing the voting process in the regions of Azerbaijan. He said the 11-strong observation mission of the Cooperation Council of the Turkish-Speaking States will visit the region of Barda and the towns where internally displaced people live.
