Important work implemented to conduct elections based on world`s best practices
Baku, October 7. Chairman of the Central Election Commission of the Republic of Moldova Yury Chokan who has arrived in Azerbaijan to observe the October 9 presidential elections met with Chairman of the Central Election Commission of Azerbaijan Mazahir Panahov.
Panahov spoke of the run-up to the presidential elections. The chairman underlined that the observer institution is important in terms of election transparency.
"We have invited heads of election commissions from a number of countries to observe the run-up to the elections and the process of voting. The CEC has taken all steps determined by the law in order to ensure free, democratic, fair and transparent elections,” Panahov said.
"Azerbaijan is developing and becomes more beautiful day by day. Very important work has been done in Azerbaijan to conduct elections in Azerbaijan in line with democratic standards. From this point of view, I appreciate the activity fo the Central Election Commission of the Republic of Azerbaijan,” Chokan said.
Chokan expressed assurance that the elections would be held in accordance with the world`s best practices.
