On 23 July, Mr. Erling Skjønsberg, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Kingdom of Norway to the country met with Mr. Mazahir Panahov, Chairman of the Central Election Commission.

Mr. Ambassador inquired about the election system of Azerbaijan, steps put for the preparation and conduct of the forthcoming elections and drafted projects.

CEC Chairman talked about the update of voters’ register on the country, wide scale education programs and also stated that the vast majority of these activities were planned to be implemented jointly with international organizations. He informed on obtaining necessary election-related information through CEC website by voters and meanwhile, underlined the possibility of checking their entries on the voters’ lists via internet. CEC Chairman also reported on the projects implemented and drafted to be realized.

Mr. Ambassador who welcomed the implemented works and drafted projects, emphasized the efficiency of broadly using internet resources and its big importance in developing the transparency of applying web cameras.

During the meeting, other inquiries of the visitors were also replied to and the issues of mutual interest were discussed.
