Presentation of 'Vote' project in Baku
Baku, 23 September (AzerTaj). Presentation of "Vote” project aimed at involving the youth to participate in the election process more actively during the upcoming Presidential elections took place on the initiative of "Ireli” ("Forward”) Public Union and by the assistance of Central Election Commission in "Park Inn” hotel on September 23, 2013.

Gasimov, Chair of "Ireli” Public Union
and representatives of the youth organizations took part at the event.
The activity started with "Vote” song which is the anthem of the project sang
by a young singer Tomris.
Head of CEC Secretariat Rovzat Gasimov informed in his speech at the presentation
activity that nearly 500 thousand youth will enjoy their voting rights for the
first time in the Presidential elections. Thus, they will participate as a
citizen with full rights in all. activities carried on in the country. Head of
CEC Secretariat noted that generally, five million voters had been registered
this year 2 million of them, i.e. 40 % are the youth. And the youth who enjoy
the right to vote for the first time constitute 10%. The other 150 young people
who will be 18 on the Election day – 9 October, will also enjoy their election
rights.
Speaking about the objectives of "Vote” project, Chair of "Ireli” Public Union Rauf
Merdiyev informed that the goal is to raise the turnout of the youth in the
upcoming Presidential elections and to take activities for awareness raising of
the voters who are to implement their voting rights for the first time.
Later, R.Merdiyev stated that the activities in the frame of campaign had been commenced
and www.sesver.az site started to function.
Clip shooting of "Vote” song calling the youth to take an active part has been
finished. Guidebooks have been prepared and trainer groups have been
established for the youth who will vote for the first time.
