United States Ambassador to the Republic of Azerbaijan Richard Morningstar met with CEC Chairman Mazahir Panahov at the Central Election Commission on September 12, 2013.

Ambassador inquired about the implemented activities and drafted projects in the current stage of the elections.

Stating that the process of the candidates’ registration is coming to an end, Chairman brought to the notice that pre-election campaign would be started since 16 September. He stated that the registered candidates had been facilitated for conducting campaign in comply with the election legislation. Chairman spoke about the measures taken for the conduct of the upcoming elections in accordance with democratic principles and replied to other questions of great interest to the visitor.

Discussions were held on the perspectives of cooperation at the meeting.
