Central Election Commission conducted the following session under the chairmanship of Mr. Mazahir Panahov on September 11, 2013.

Firstly, the session minute of the Commission dated 9 September 2013 was approved.

Later, the issue on the registration of Gudrat Muzaffar oghlu Hasanguliyev nominated by United Azerbaijan Popular Front Party was reviewed. It was reported that the signature sheets with the voters’ signatures in support of the candidate and the documents to be attached to them had been submitted to CEC by the candidate’s authorized representative. The investigation was held in a manner and within the period defined by law and grounds were determined for registering the candidate.

The Commission made decision on the registration of Gudrat Hasanguliyev in the Presidential elections to be held on 9 October 2013.

Central Election Commission also made decision on the registration of Hafiz Alamdar oghlu Hajiyev nominated by Modern Musavat Party.

The issue on the registration of the candidacy of Fuad Aghasi oghlu Aliyev nominated by Azerbaijan Liberal Democrat Party was considered. It was reported that the signature sheets with the voters’ signatures in support of the candidate and the documents to be attached to them had been submitted to CEC by the candidate’s authorized representative for the candidate’s registration. The investigation was held in a manner and within the period defined by law and grounds were determined for refusing from registering the candidate. While not less than 40 thousand valid voters’ signatures shall be collected in support of the candidate, the number of the valid signatures included in the submitted signature sheets was less than the number implied by law for a candidate’s registration. Central Election Commission made decision on the refusal from registering the candidacy of Fuad Aliyev.

The Commission put the issues on the registration of candidacies of Araz Mammad Mubariz oghlu Alizade nominated by Azerbaijan Social Democratic Party and Faraj Ibrahim oghlu Guliyev nominated by National Renaissance Movement Party into discussion. The Commission adopted decisions on the registration of both nominees.

At the session, amendments were made to the structure of Garadagh-Binagadi-Yasamal Con.EC 12 and Gadabay Con.EC 103.

CEC also considered current issues.

The session of the Commission was also attended by the representatives of international organizations and mass media.
