Head of CIS Parliamentary Assembly met with CEC Chairman

Members of CIS Parliamentary Observation Mission on the Presidential elections in Azerbaijan led by Mr. Leonid Slutsky, chair of Duma Committee on the Commonwealth of Independent States and Ties with Compatriots met with Mr. Mazahir Panahov, CEC Chairman on September 10, 2013.

Greeting the visitors, CEC Chairman stated that the upcoming elections is a very important historical event in the life of the country and bears great importance. He expressed his honor to the CIS observers to observe the upcoming Presidential elections.

The head of the mission informed that long-term observers-experts had already started their missions. The visitor reported that the observers had deployed to separate regions of the country and the preparations for the elections had been implemented fully. The head of the mission appraised the activity of Central Election Commission of the Republic of Azerbaijan and underlined the implementation of election preparations in comply with democracy principles.

Views were exchanged on the organization of the mission activity and cooperation in this sphere at the meeting.
