Central Election Commission conducted session under the chairmanship of Mr. Mazahir Panahov on September 9, 2013.

Firstly, session minute dated 3 September 2013 was approved.

Later, the issue on the registration of Zahid Maharram oghlu Oruj nominated on his own initiative was considered. It was stated that candidacy of Zahid Maharram oghlu Oruj nominated on his own initiative in the elections was verified by CEC decision dated 17 August 2013. Signature sheets with voters’ signatures collected in support of the candidate and the documents to be attached to them were submitted to CEC by the authorized representative of the candidate on September 3, 2013 for the registration of the candidate. Relevant investigation was conducted in a manner and within the period defined by law and legal grounds were determined for the registration of the candidate.

Later, Mr. Ilham Mammadov, head of the Working Group under the Commission reported on the results of checking the information included in the submitted signature sheets and other documents.

Central Election Commission made decision on the registration of Zahid Oruj to the candidacy for presidency in Presidential elections on October 9, 2013.

CEC registered 6 persons presented by Zahid Oruj as his authorized representatives.

Current issues were also reviewed at the session.

CEC session was also attended by the representatives of international organizations and mass media.
