Central Election Commission of the Republic of Azerbaijan conducted its session headed by Mr. Mazahir Panahov on September 4, 2008.
Firstly, Mr. Natig Mammadov, CEC Secretary reported on the approval of candidacy of Mr. Intigam Charkaz oghlu Mammadov nominated on his own initiative. CEC adopted decision on the approval of the candidacy of this person.

Later, the Commission adopted decision on the termination of candidacies of Teymur Parviz oghlu Guliyev and Fikret Taghi oghlu Ahadov, whose candidacies have been approved.

At the session, the issue on the re-organization of Press Group under CEC for observing the identified rules for pre-election campaign was considered and decision was adopted on re-organization of this group.

CEC made amendments in the compositions of some Con.ECs.

At the session, current issues were also considered.

At the CEC session, observers of OSCE Democratic Institutions and Human Rights, OSCE Baku office, representatives of International Foundation for Election Systems (the USA) and mass media also took part.
