On July 1, 2010 special delegation on the South Caucasus of the European Union headed by Mr. Peter Semneby met at with Chairman Mr. Mazahir Panahov at Central Election Commission.
CEC chairman expressed his gratitude of the meeting with the delegation of the European Union and pointed the special importance to the cooperation with this organization given by our country, as well as CEC.
Mr. Peter Semneby who reminded efficient meetings at Central Election Commission expressed his confidence in continuing mutual successful cooperation and booming conduct of the forthcoming elections.
 
By emphasizing that Azerbaijan is a young democratic state, he stated that the European Union is keen to assist to continue this progress.
The visitors interested in the activities related with the preparations to the forthcoming elections taken by Central Election Commission.
The Chairman informed the delegation on the preparation to the elections to be conducted and stated that elections would be conducted in conformity with the European standards of election legislation.
 
At the meeting, view exchanges were conducted on the perspectives of the future cooperation between Central Election Commission and European Union.
