Central Election Commission of the Republic of Azerbaijan (CEC) conducted its session on July 15, 2003. Mr. Ingilab Nasirov, CEC Secreatry reported on the approval of the candidacy of Araz Mubariz oghlu Mammad nominated by the Azerbaijan Social-Democratic Party. He also stated that documents had been made official pursuant to the requirements of the Election Code. The Commission decided to approve the candidacy of Araz Mubariz oghlu Mammad to presidency. Later, the Commission heard the reports of Mr. Ingilab Nasirov on the approval of the "Instruction on the rules for working with voters lists of Constituency and Precinct Election Commissions” and "Instruction on working rules for observers appointed by candidates to presidency, political parties, block of political parties, non-governmental organizations functioning in the field of elections”. These documents were approved by considering the opinions and suggestions of the commissioners. Mr. Vidadi Mahmudov, CEC Secreatry reorted on the approval of the "Comment on elections of secretaries in Constituency and Precinct Election Commissions. The Commission also decided to approve this document by taking opinion and suggestions as a basis. At the end of the session, current issues were discussed. Representatives of IFES (International Foundation for Election Systems), OSCE Baku office, USA Embassy, foreign and domestic mass media also participated at the session.
