Central Election Commission of the Republic of Azerbaijan (CEC) conducted its session on July 13, 2003.
Mr. Ingilab Nasirov, CEC Secretary reported to the commissioners on the approval of the candidacy of Kamran Anvar oghlu Rustamov nominated on his own initiative. As the documents submitted to the CEC by Kamran Anvar oghlu Rustamov were not prepared pursuant to the requirements of relevant Articles in Election Code, his candidacy to presidency was not approved.
Mr. Ingilab Nasirov, CEC Secretary reorted on the application of special stencil forms for the voting of blind voters without any assistant. CEC commissioners expresses their assertion that blind persons would greet this innovation for the first time in the election history of the Republic of Azerbaijan with pleasure and stated that application of submitted stencil form is bright example of ensurance of election right of these persons not only in words, but also in work. Approval of special voting stencil form was decided to be approved.
Later, report of Mr. Ilham Mammadov, CEC Commissioner was heard on the apply entered CEC by authorized representatives of Adalet Party related to the Presidential Elections of the Republic of Azerbaijan. The Commission decided to send this apply to the Prosecutor`s Office of the Republic of Azerbaijan for taking relevant measures.
Representatives of IFES (International Foundation for Election Systems), domestic and foreign mass media participated at the session.
