Central Election Commission of the Republic of Azerbaijan (CEC) conducted its session on July 6, 2003.
The Commission considered the issue of approval of the candidacy of Chingiz Damir oghlu Sadigov to the presidency nominated by Vahid Azerbaijani Party. Mr. Vidadi Mahmudov, CEC Secretary reported on full conformity of the submitted documents with requirements of Election Code. The Commission decided to approve the candidacy of Chingiz Damir oghlu sadigov to the presidency by taking it as a basis.
Mr. Ingilab Nasirov, CEC Secretary reported on law violations in documents submitted by Rufat Aghababa oghlu Aghayev nominated on his own initiative. The Commission did not approve the candidacy of Rufat Aghababa oghlu Aghayev to the presidency.
Report of Mr. Ilham Mammadov, CEC Commissioner on the consideration of applies entered CEC related to the Presidential Election of the Republic of Azerbaijan was heard at the session. It was decided to investigate the issues concerning these applies and to send the documents to the Prosecutor`s Office of the Republic of Azerbaijan for taking relevant measures.
The Commission approved graphical description and texts of Constituency and Precinct Election Commission stamps on elections/referendum.
Representatives of IFES (International Foundation for Election Systems), domestic and foreign mass media participated at the session.
