Central Election Commission conducted the session on November 26, 2024
A meeting of the Central Election Commission was held on November 26, 2024 under the chairmanship of Mazahir Panakhov. First, the protocol of the meeting of the Commission held on November 6, 2024 was approved.
Then the issue of partial changes in the boundaries of some constituencies was considered. It was brought to attention that according to the Law "On creation of new municipalities through the merger of municipalities in the Republic of Azerbaijan", new municipalities were created through the merger of municipalities. Also, the Addition to the Law of the Republic of Azerbaijan "On Territories and Lands of Municipalities" - "On Amendments to the List of Municipalities in the Republic of Azerbaijan" and the "List of Municipalities in the Republic of Azerbaijan" was issued in a new edition. In connection with the above, the commission for determining the boundaries of constituencies operating in the Central Election Commission has submitted its proposals to the Central Election Commission to partially change the boundaries of some constituencies in order to implement relevant regulations in accordance with the requirements of the Election Code. After a wide and comprehensive discussion of the members of the Commission, taking into account the local conditions and other conditions, keeping in mind the need to create the most favorable conditions for the voters in accordance with the requirements of the legislation, it is necessary to partially change the boundaries of some constituencies and inform the public by updating the information in the relevant database on the official website of the Commission.
In the meeting, the issue of normative acts of the Central Election Commission was discussed, and by the decision of the Commission, some normative acts were adapted to the changes made in the legislation in recent times.
At the meeting, which was widely covered by representatives of the media outlets, the composition of the constituency election commissions of a number of constituencies was changed and current issues were discussed.
