Regarding the Elections, Technical Supervision Center of Webcams visited

Regarding the forthcoming early Elections to the Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Mr.Mazahir Panahov, Chairman of the Central Election Commission (CEC), Mr.Rashad Nabiyev, Minister of Digital Development and Transport and Mr.Ilgar Musayev, Chair of Special Communication and Information Security State Service visited Technical Supervision Center of Webcams located at the Commission premises on August 27, 2024.

They got familiarized with the processes and emphasized on the essence of abiding by the requirements of the election legislation in the process of installing webcams to ensure transparency in elections and provided important recommendations for the specialists.

The heads of the organizations implementing the project of using webcams in the Elections to the Milli Majlis within the atmosphere of close cooperation were informed on final preparation works carried out intensively in connection with the installation, regulation and setting ready of webcams for the E-Day.

It was informed at the event broadcasted thoroughly by the media representatives that the elections held in Azerbaijan had always been featured with independent participation of different institutions of transparency, many local and international observers and media representatives. The effective application of the latest innovative achievements of information and communication technologies fully ensures the continuous monitoring of the processes from the beginning to the end, full and inclusive observation on the voting day, thus ensuring further transparency in the elections.

It was stated that the guarantee of transparency had always been focused in the Elections to the Milli Majlis held in all sovereign territories of the country which had turned an important event in the social and political life of the republic. So that, the practice of using webcams, successfully applied in the election experience for 16 years, will still be continued to be carried out in the forthcoming elections.

Webcams, technical parameters and high view quality of which had been strengthened were installed in 1000 polling stations for the monitoring of the processes in the polling stations On Election Day – September 1, 2024.

The foregoing web-cameras will allow internet users either inside the country or abroad opportunity of continuously observing all the processes at the polling station – voting, counting of votes and determination of results through the access of the CEC official website on the voting day without any requirement of registration.

During the event media representatives were also informed on the latest preparation works for the Elections to the Milli Majlis and journalists’ questions were responded to.
