Ballot Papers for the Elections to the Milli Majlis started to be printed

Regarding the early Elections to the Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan appointed to September 1, 2024, ballot papers started to be printed.

On August 15, 2024, Mr. Mazahir Panahov, Chairman of the Central Election Commission (CEC) got familiar with the printing process and created conditions together with the Commission members and Secretariat officials.

CEC Chairman stated that ballot papers were one of the basic electoral documents and emphasized on the essence of ballot papers which were of special importance for the implementation of voters’ constitutional rights. He also underlined the importance of abiding by the requirements of the Election Code in the compilation and printing of ballot papers within the manner and timeframe implied in the legislation. Chairman Mr. Mazahir Panahov informed that the text, format, number and requirements for the preparation of ballot papers are defined by the CEC decision as in compliance with the Election Code and regarding the Elections to the Milli Majlis, 6516567 (6 million five hundred and sixteen thousand, five hundred and sixty seven) ballot papers are considered to be printed. The Commission Chairman also provided his recommendations for the printing and handling of the ballot papers to the lower election commissions within the timeframe and manner as determined in the legislation.

After the familiarization with the printing process of ballot papers, CEC Chairman provided detailed information on the latest preparation works for the top-level preparation and conduct of the Elections to the Milli Majlis, thereby sharing his views and replying to the questions addressed by the journalists.

It is worth noting that the printing process is implemented in fully open and transparent atmosphere for the all election stakeholders, international organizations, and election observation missions and media representatives upon ensuring security.
