Regional seminar dedicated to election dispute resolution was held in Nakhchivan
Regional seminar dedicated to election dispute resolution was held at Nakhchivan “ASAN service” center with the organization of the Central Election Commission (CEC) of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
During the seminar Mr. Gabil Orujov, CEC Member spoke about the legal requirements for the investigation of appeals and complaints related to violations of electoral rights and principles for investigating complaints.
It was stated that the main purpose of holding regional seminars is to increase the awareness of members of the Con.EC Expert Groups and strengthen their practical skills regarding the legal requirements for the investigation of appeals and complaints related to violations of electoral rights and principles for investigating complaints.
Mr. Tofig Hasanov, CEC Member commented thoroughly about the issues to be encountered during the appeals of those claiming the violation of the election right, characteristics of appeals and complaints.
At the seminar booklets “Guide for members of Expert Groups” containing detailed information on the investigation of election-related appeals, also relevant opinions and draft decisions were submitted to all the participants.
The event was attended by generally, 18 persons, being 3 experts from each of 6 Constituency Election Commissions (Con.ECs) in Nakhchivan.
At the end of the event, views were shared and discussions were held, therewith, the issues interesting to the participants were clarified.
It should be noted that the seminar held in Nakhchivan was the last project dedicated to the election dispute resolution that had been implemented within the frame of CEC large-scale educational program regarding the forthcoming Elections to the Milli Majlis.
