The Central Election Commission (CEC) conducted a session chaired by Mr. Mazahir Panahov on June 29, 2024.

Firstly, CEC Chairman M.Panahov made the Commission members aware of the Order of President of the Republic of Azerbaijan on the dismiss of the sixth call Mili Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan and appointment of the Early Elections to the Mili Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan and informed that by the Order of the head of state, the Elections to the Mili Majlis was appointed to September 1, 2024.

Later, in the aim of undertaking the basic activities and measures implied by the election legislation in a regular and efficient manner, to provide methodical assistance to the election stakeholders and to increase the efficiency of their activity, the Calendar Plan containing necessary issues of major stages was submitted to the discussion of the Commission members. Each part of the foregoing document was separately explained and it was decided to be approved upon the discussions held.

During the session the issue on the establishment of the Expert Group under CEC to investigate the complaints against the actions (inactions) and decisions violating citizens’ election rights was also considered and it was decided to form Expert Group 9 persons under the Commission. The Constituency Election Commissions were commissioned with the establishment of Expert Groups under these election commissions, consisting of 3 persons.

Working Group consisting of the experts from relevant state bodies was established to check the accuracy of the information included in signature sheets and other attached documents submitted for the registration of a candidacy in the Elections to the Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan and a CEC member was appointed a head of the Group at the session.

Current issues were also considered at the session broadcasted by the representatives of mass media.
