Central Election Commission conducted the next session on January 9, 2024

The Central Election Commission (CEC) conducted the next session chaired by Mr. Mazahir Panahov on January 9, 2024. Firstly, the Commission’s session minute dated 6 January 2024 was approved.

 

Later, the issues on the registration of candidacies of Mr. Gudrat Muzaffar oghlu Hasanguliyev, nominated by the Whole Azerbaijan Popular Front Party, Mr. Fazil Gazanfar oghlu Mustafa, nominated by Great Creation Party, Mr. Elshad Nabi oghlu Musayev, nominated by Great Azerbaijan Party and Mr. Fuad Aghasi oghlu Aliyev, nominated on his own initiative for the early Presidential elections of the Republic of Azerbaijan, appointed to February 7, 2024 were considered. After broad information on the procedural development has been provided, it was stated that once the authorized representatives of the foregoing candidates submitted the signature sheets with voters’ signatures collected in support of the candidates and the attached documents to CEC, legal grounds were defined to register those candidates upon the relevant investigation held within the timeframe and manner as stipulated in the election legislation.

 

Following long discussions, the Commission decided to register Mr. Gudrat Muzaffar oghlu Hasanguliyev, nominated by the Whole Azerbaijan Popular Front Party, Mr. Fazil Gazanfar oghlu Mustafa, nominated by Great Creation Party, Mr. Elshad Nabi oghlu Musayev, nominated by Great Azerbaijan Party and Mr. Fuad Aghasi oghlu Aliyev, nominated on his own initiative as candidates in the early Presidential elections of the Republic of Azerbaijan, appointed to February 7, 2024.

 

During the session the issue on the approval of the list of the election constituencies to register the voters who vote outside the borders of the country in the early Presidential elections of the Republic of Azerbaijan, appointed to February 7, 2024 was considered and relevant election constituencies were defined.

 

The composition of the Press Group functioning under CEC was also made changes at the Commission’s session.


The compositions of some Constituency Election Commissions (Con.ECs) were made changes and current issues were considered at the session attended by the representative of the international observation mission, authorized representatives of the candidate for Presidency and political parties whose candidate has been registered, commission member with consultative voting right, observer with specific permission and representatives of media outlets.
