The Central Election Commission conducted the following session chaired by Mr. Mazahir Panahov on January 6, 2024. Firstly, the Commission’s session minutes dated 30 and 31 December, 2023 were approved.

Later, the issue on the registration of candidacies of self-nominee Mr. Zahid Maharram oghlu Oruj and Mr. Razi Gulamali oghlu Nurullayev, nominated by the National Front Party for the early Presidential elections of the Republic of Azerbaijan, appointed to February 7, 2024 was considered. After thorough information on the process development has been provided and the signature sheets with voter’ signatures collected in support of the above-mentioned nominees and the attached documents have been submitted to CEC by their authorized representatives, legal grounds were determined to register the candidates upon the relevant investigation held within the timeframe and manner implied in the Election Code.

Following long discussions, the Commission decided to register the candidacies of self-nominee Mr. Zahid Maharram oghlu Oruj and Mr. Razi Gulamali oghlu Nurullayev, nominated by the National Front Party for the early Presidential elections of the Republic of Azerbaijan, appointed to February 7, 2024.

During the session attended by the representative of international observation mission, commission member with consultative voting right and observer with specific permission and the representatives of the media outlets, the compositions of some Con.ECs were made changes and current issues were also discussed.
