The Central Election Commission (CEC) conducted the following session chaired by Mr. Mazahir Panahov on December 26, 2023. Firstly, the Commission’s session minutes dated 21 December and 23 December 2023 were approved.

Later, the issues on the nomination of candidacies for the early Presidential elections of the Republic of Azerbaijan, appointed to February 7, 2024 were considered. The candidacies of self-nominees - Mr. Sarvan Idris oghlu Kerimov, Matlab Azizulla oghlu Mutallimli, Abutalib Ganbar oghlu Samadov, Fikrat Huseyn oghlu Yusifov, Yusif Gazanfar oghlu Baghirzadeh, Arzuman Said oghlu Abdulkerimov, Yunus Isakhan oghlu Oghuz and Gulamhuseyn Surkhay oghlu Alibeyli were verified at the session.

The Commission also decided to implement the applications of the verified self-nominees who have presented authorized representatives.

During the session attended by the representatives of foreign embassies and media outlets, the structures of some Constituency Election Commissions were made changes and current issues were also discussed.
