The Central Election Commission has started to implement large-scale education program that embody many projects on different fields for the election stakeholders in the early Presidential elections of the Republic of Azerbaijan, appointed to February 7, 2024 as in compliance with the Election Code and "National Activity Program in the field of increasing the efficiency of protecting human rights and freedoms in the Republic of Azerbaijan”, approved by the Order of President of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

It is worth noting that CEC adopted decision on the implementation of broad educational projects on various aspects at the session on December 16, 2023 with the aim of improving the election system and electoral practice, voters’ awareness-raising, training of the election stakeholders, as well as, increasing professional skills and experience of the Constituency and Precinct Election Commissions’ members.

Regarding the execution of the part on election commissions from the above-mentioned important document, the first educational activity embodied lower election commissions. So that, a broad seminar for the Con.EC chairpersons was held at the Commission’s administrative premises in Bakuon December 20, 2023. Having greeted the attendants at the opening of the event, Mr. Mazahir Panahov, CEC Chairman underlined the National Activity Program approved by the Order of President which constituted major legal framework for all educational projects implemented by the Commission. CEC Chairman spoke about the provision of all the Con.ECs and PECs within the country with broad opportunities and suitable conditions for the high-level conduct of the early Presidential elections of the Republic of Azerbaijan and informed on the activities and steps put for the preparations and large-scale projects under consideration.

The speeches on different topics by Mr. Zeynal Naghdaliyev, Assistant to President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Head of the Department for Territorial and Organizational Issues of the Presidential Administration, Mr. Ferhad Abdullayev, Chair of the Constitutional Court, Mr. Ali Huseynli, Deputy Chair of the Milli Majlis, Mr. Toghrul Musayev, Deputy Minister of Justice, Mr. Ismet Aliyev, Deputy Minister of Interior and Mr. Elchin Mammadov, First Deputy Prosecutor General heard at the session.
