A large delegation headed by Mr. Mazahir Panahov, Chairman of the Central Election Commission (CEC) of the Republic of Azerbaijan is leaving to visit the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The goal of the visit basing on the invitation of Mr. Zayniddin Nizamkhojayev, Chairman of the Central Election Commission of Uzbekistan is to observe the referendum on the draft Constitutional Law "On the Constitution of the Republic of Uzbekistan" to be held on April 30, 2023.

Within the framework of the visit, discussions and meetings by Chairman Mr. Mazahir Panahov together with his Uzbek counterpart are planned with other officials, as well as heads of organizations participating in the observation of the referendum and foreign supreme election bodies regarding the prospects of development of relations in various fields, opportunities for cooperation and issues of mutual interest.

It is worth noting that CEC representatives participate in the observation of the referendum in Uzbekistan as part of the Organization of Turkic States and the Commonwealth of Independent States.

The representatives of the CEC will observe polling stations located in the capital Tashkent and the districts on voting day.
