Central Election Commission of the Republic of Azerbaijan (CEC) conducted its session headed by Mr. Mazahir Panahov on August 15, 2005. 

Firstly, session minutes by the Commission dated on July 4, July 5, July 8, July 12, July 21 and July 27, 2005 were approved.

Later, Mr. Natig Mammadov, CEC Secretary reported on the registration of "Birlik” ("Unity”) political party bloc at CEC. CEC adopted decision on the registration of this political party bloc.
Mr. Vidadi Mahmudov, another CEC Secretary reported on the draft of Instruction "on the participation of military servicemen in Elections to the Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan”. CEC adopted decision on the approval of the Instruction.

CEC made amendments in the composition of some Constituency Election Commissions.
At the session, current issues were also considered.

Representatives of IFES (International Foundation for Election Systems), USA embassy, domestic and foreign mass media also participated at the session of the Commission.
