Central Election Commission conducted a session on January 17, 2020

The Central
Election Commission (CEC) conducted the following session chaired by Mr. Mazahir
Panahov on January 17, 2020. Firstly, the session minute of the Commission,
dated January 9, 2020 was approved.
Later, the composition of the Press Group functioning under CEC to
control on abidance by the legal requirements during the conduct of
pre-election campaign in mass media was made changes.
During the session CEC reviewed the appeals filed in
connection with the Elections to the Milli Majlis, dated February 9, 2020. After discussing the appeals with the participation of the interested
stakeholders of the election process, relevant decisions were adopted. During
the discussion of the appeals, the Con.EC decision on the refusal from
registering the candidacy was annulled, meanwhile, the appeal of the citizen
whose right had been offended due to the inaction of the Con.EC was implemented
and the candidacies of two self-nominees in the Elections to the Milli Majlis
were registered by CEC.
Current issues were also considered at the session
attended by the international observers joining the monitoring of the Elections to the Milli Majlis and
mass media representatives.
