Central Election Commission of the Republic of Azerbaijan (CEC) conducted its session headed by Mr. Mazahir Panahov on July 21, 2005.
Firstly, Chairman of the Commission congratulated representatives of media on the occasion of 130th anniversary of National Media to be on July 22, 2005 and spoke about their important role the creativity of legal state and civil society.
Later, Mr. Natig Mammadov, CEC Secretary reported on the registration of "Islahat” political party bloc by CEC related to Elections to the Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan to be conducted on November 6, 2005. The Commission adopted decision on the registration of this bloc. CEC also solved the issue of the registration of "Azadlig” and "Yeni Siyaset” political party blocs positively.
Mr. Vidadi Mahmudov, CEC Secretary reported on the draft of Instruction "on the rules for the preparation of ballot papers, envelopes to put them in and voting protocols of election commissions and their submission to Constituency and Precinct Election Commissions (Con.ECs and PECs) in Elections to the Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan” and the Commission adopted decision on the approval of the draft of this Instruction.
CEC also approved the Instruction "on the rule for the issuance of voter cards” and the draft of Instruction "on the status of members of election commissions with consultative rights”.
The Commission adopted decision on making amendments in the compoisition of some Con.ECs.
During the discussion of current issues, Mr. Igbal Babayev, director of "Sechkilar” Information Center spoke about the information posted on the CEC website and informed that persons interested in it can the information on the number of voters, boundaries of constituencies and addresses of precincts from this website page.
