The Central Election Commission conducted a joint training with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in connection with the Presidential Elections of the Republic of Azerbaijan appointed on April 11, 2018.

Ambassador Faig Bagirov, The head of the Consular Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Ambassador , noted that preparations are being carried out at the embassies and consulates of Azerbaijan in accordance with the Electoral Code and the Statute on the Consulate in connection with the presidential elections. According to the order of Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov dated February 21, 2018 a working group of employees of the relevant ministries of the Ministry has been organized. If more than 50 citizens are registered in our consulates abroad, polling stations are established at our embassies and consulates in that country. In 41 polling stations have been established in embassies and consulates in 32 foreign countries. Everybody who lives,in foreign countries with the help of the Central Election Commission, will vote using the constitutional right. In his speech Rovzat Gasimov Head of the Secretariat of the Central Election Commission thanked the Foreign Ministry for the conditions created for the citizens living outside the country to use their right to vote. He noted that, unlike most countries in the world, the government of the Republic of Azerbaijan provides opportunity to citizens not only who can live and vote in Azerbaijan, but also to the citizens who lives abroad.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has great experience in this area. As in every election, polling stations were set up at our diplomatic missions in abroad for the Presidential Elections of the Republic of Azerbaijan to be held on April11, 2018. The results of the 29 polling stations established in our embassies and consulates will be adopted by Yasamal 17 and the results of 12 polling stations will be the result of the second Yasamal election constituency # 16. This process is carried out by the relevant decision of the Central Election Commission.

Effective cooperation of the Central Election Commission with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the successful results achieved in the previous elections suggests that this year, all the projects envisaged by legislation to ensure the voting rights of our compatriots living in foreign countries will be implemented timely and at high level also free of citizens' and they will be able to freely use them.
