Mr.Mazahir Panahov, Chairman of the Central Election Commission (CEC) visited the USA regarding presidential elections on November 9, 2016.

During the visit planned according to the invitation of William Sweeney, President of International Foundation for Electoral Systems (IFES) Mr.Panahov will attend various events related with elections and will meet with the President of IFES, heads of election management bodies of different countries and international organizations and with other officials and also will hold discussions on perspectives of mutually beneficial cooperation and other issues on elections. Furthermore on Election Day, observation of processes in the polling stations by CEC Chairman is also planned.

According to the invitation of the President of IFES, Mr.Panahov will also attend the Global Electoral Organization's next - 7th (GEO-7) meeting on November 9. It is also expected that the discussions on various topics regarding elections and exchange of experiences will be held in this meeting by various electoral bodies from various countries and heads of international organizations, as well as international electoral experts.

During the visit to the USA, the Chairman of CEC is accompanied by Mr.Rovzat Gasimov, the Head of Secretariat.
