Leonid Slutsky, Chairman of the State Duma Committee of Federal Council of the Russian Federation and Head of observation mission of CIS Interparliamentary Assembly met with Mazahir Panahov, Chairman of the Central Election Commission (CEC).

CEC Chairman Mazahir Panahov welcomed the Russian visitor and expressed his gratitude of the meeting on the Election Day. Meanwhile he underlined that the organization led by him had always put importance to the partnership and effective mutual relationship with international organizations.

Leonid Slutsky expressed his appreciation of the visit and thanked for warm welcome. Chairman of the Russian State Duma Committee also noted that a law violation had been recorded in none of the polling stations where he had observed during the whole day and free expression of voters’ will was witnessed. Today’s elections proved once more that improvements were being achieved further in the elections held in Azerbaijan year by year.

During the meeting they also shared opinions on other issues of mutual interest.
