Mazahir Panahov, Chairman of the Central Election Commission (CEC) met with the international observation mission of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Turkic Speaking Countries who are on official visit in the Republic of Azerbaijan to monitor the Elections to the Milli Majlis on November 1 of this year.

CEC Chairman Mazahir Panahov expressed his gratitude of the meeting upon the welcoming the delegation at the Central Election Commission and stated that mutual effective cooperation with international organizations had always played an important role in the improvement of election practice. Close relationship of the Central Election Commission of the Republic of Azerbaijan with different international organizations and foreign bodies is indisputable in current development of the electoral system and processes in the country.

Members of international observation mission thanked CEC Chairman Mazahir Panahov for warm welcome and were interested in the works undertaken in the eve of the Elections to the Milli Majlis. CEC Chairman replied to the questions of the delegation and informed on top-level preparation towards the elections, steps put for and wide-scale projects carried out for the conduct of free, fair and transparent elections.

During the meeting they shared their opinions on other issues of mutual interest.
