The delegation led by Arnis Cimdars, Chairman of Latvian Central Election Commission who are on official visit in the Republic of Azerbaijan to monitor the Elections to the Milli Majlis on November 1 of this year met with Chairman Mazahir Panahov at the Central Election Commission (CEC) on October 29, 2015.

CEC Chairman Mazahir Panahov welcomed his Latvian counterpart and delegation, also expressed his gratitude of the close cooperation between the election institutes of these two countries, which had been developing year by year, thereby emphasizing that the relationship with superior election institutes of different countries would lead to sustainable practice exchange and thus, to further development of election experience.

Arnis Cimdars, Chairman of Latvian Central Election Commission thanked for warm welcome and was interested in the latest preparation works towards the Elections to the Milli Majlis to be held on November 1, 2015. Chairman Mazahir Panahov replied to the visitors’ questions and informed on the steps put and wide-scale projects carried out for the conduct of free, fair and transparent elections.

During the meeting they also shared ideas on the perspectives to develop the partnership between the organizations further and other issues of mutual interest.
