The Central Election Commission of the Republic of Azerbaijan (CEC) prepared "Election Day Guide” within the framework of educational project to raise awareness of election actors regarding the Municipal Elections on December 23, 2014.

The goal of carrying out the project and preparing the edition is to raise awareness of PEC members on the Election Day procedures.

The introduction of the guide contains the address of Mr.Mazahir Panahov, CEC Chairman to the PEC members. In his address CEC Chairman underlies the duties undertaken by the PECs in the conduct of the Municipal elections in comply with the Election Code, which are important event in the public and political life of the country and wishes them success in the conduct of free, fair and transparent elections.

The booklet includes thorough information on roles and duties of the PEC members on Election Day, opening of polling stations, activities during voting hours, closing of polling stations, vote counting and completing final protocols on the voting results.

The Guide has been prepared based on the provisions of the Election Code and instructions, comments and rules adopted by CEC.

"Election Day Guide” is available from lower election commissions, as well as, through CEC official website (www.msk.gov.az).
