The Central Election Commission of the Republic of Azerbaijan prepared "Guide for candidates” within the framework of awareness-raising of different election actors in the Municipal Elections appointed to December 23, 2014.

The goal of carrying out the project and issuing the guide is to render assistance to simplification of the activity of citizens intending to be elected municipality members to exercise their passive election right. The "Guide for candidates” contains the relevant measures to be undertaken in the registration stage of municipality membership, rights and duties of the registered candidates and the issues prohibited for them by law.

The Guide was prepared in comply with the Election Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan and normative acts approved by CEC.

The Guide is available by lower election commissions, also through the official CEC website (www.msk.gov.az).
