Central Election Commission ended the process of updating single voters' list
According to the Election Code, the process of updating single voters’ list on the country had been started since the beginnings January of 2014. Permanent voters’ list had been submitted to Constituency Election Commissions (Con.ECs) up to February 5 upon re-compile on relevant polling stations by Precinct Election Commissions (PECs) and Con.ECs had delivered the voters’ lists re-compiled on election constituencies to CEC up to April 5. CEC has updated the voters’ lists once more and has already finished this wide-scale process.
On May 29, CEC members and representatives of mass media were made familiar with the re-compiled version of single voters’ list on the country at the Information Center of CEC Secretariat. CEC members and media representatives who were made aware of the publication process and maintenance conditions of the voters’ lists to be returned to Con.ECs upon the specifications, were informed that the compile of single voters’ list had been implemented through state automated information system.
It is worthy to note that the publication process of voters’ lists has been
made many technical improvements and software has been further developed. Speedy
and secure information exchange facilitated by the local network connecting CEC
with 125 Con.ECs over fiber-optic lines has intensified the process of
summarizing the voters’ lists and has ensured qualified analyze of voters’
data. The questions emerged during the update process through video-conference
system installed on local network have been online discussed with Con.ECs
operatively and relevant steps have been taken.
Later, Central Election Commission conducted its following session chaired by Mr. Mazahir Panahov.
At the session, the issue on the compile of permanent voters’ list on the Republic of Azerbaijan was discussed. CEC Chairman thoroughly informed on the update process of single voters’ list since the beginning of the year until the end of May and expressed his gratitude to all the organizations that rendered needed assistance to the election commissions in the update process of voters’ lists.
Later, CEC members were made familiar with the decision draft on re-compile, approval and posting of permanent voters’ list on the webpage. The Commission decided that the process of compiling and updating permanent voters’ list of the current year shall be considered finished and the lists shall be sent to relevant Con.ECs to be approved by PECs. CEC adopted decision on publicizing the permanent voter’s list on the webpage after the compile through state automated information system.
Let’s note that as to today information, 5054455 voters’ entries have been
included in single voters’ list, 48,21 % of which constitute males and 51,79 %
are females.
At the session, CEC also approved the session minute dated 12 November 2013,
made amendments to a lot of normative acts and made changes in the structures
of some Con.ECs.
Representatives of international organizations, foreign embassies to the country and mass media also took part at the Commission session.
