CEC Chairman calls on all citizens with voting right to be active

Baku, October 7. All steps have been taken to ensure free, fair and democratic presidential elections scheduled for October 9, CEC Chairman Mazahir Panahov told journalists, the Independent Press Service reports.

M. Panahov stated that the ballot papers have already been handed over to the precinct election commissions and are being safeguarded by law enforcement bodies. Observation missions of reputable international organizations and a number of countries have already arrived in Baku to monitor the elections. About 300 temporary international observation missions are learning about the pre-election environment in Azerbaijan. According to the mission representatives, necessary conditions have been created to ensure free, fair and democratic elections in Azerbaijan.

Chairman of the CEC mentioned that all organizational issues have been solved for the protection of the citizens’ constitutional rights during the voting.

The Precinct Election Commissions are ready for the voting. The web cameras set up in 1000 polling stations meet modern quality standards. Any person can follow the voting process all the way from the beginning to the end at the same polling stations online via the website of the CEC.
