Central Election Commission conducted the following session on September 12, 2013

Central Election Commission conducted the following session under the chairmanship of Mr. Mazahir Panahov on September 12, 2013.

Firstly, the issue on the registration of the candidacy of Jamil Poladkhan oghlu Hasanli nominated by "National Council of Democratic forces” was considered. It was stated that the signature sheets with the voters’ signatures collected in support of the candidate and the documents to be attached to them had been submitted to CEC by the candidate’s authorized representative. The investigation was conducted in a manner and within the period defined by law and grounds were determined for the registration of the candidate.

The Commission adopted decision on the registration of Jamil Hasanli as a candidate in the Presidential election on October 9, 2013.

The issue on the registration of the candidacy of Ahmad Abdul oghlu Orujov nominated by "Azadlig” Party at the session. It was stated that though not less than 40 thousand valid voters’ signatures shall be collected in support of a candidate, the number of valid signatures in the signature sheets submitted by the authorized representative of the party was less than the number for the registration implied by law. Central Election Commission adopted decision on the refusal from registering the candidacy of Ahmad Orujov.

The Commission also considered the issue on the registration of the candidacy of Ilyas Abbas oghlu Ismayilov nominated by Justice Party. CEC adopted decision on the registration of this person’s candidacy.

Current issues were also considered at the session.

The session of the Commission was also attended by the representatives of international organizations and mass media.
